what happens in utah stays in utah

when the bestfriend and i get together, there's no shortage of embarrassing moments. don't believe me? keep reading. you can't make this stuff up.

"Uhhh...did I just tell someone they couldn't go into the temple?" -Amanda
"Yes. Yes, you did." -Emily

"How's your night going?" -Grandpa
"It's going really good. I got a hot chick's number!" -Burger King Worker
"You want two more?" *looks at us* -Grandpa

"I already threw up a little in my mouth!" -Kid at Lagoon

"So how did you two end up in Temple Square today?" -Sister Missionaries
"Well. To be honest...I was trying samples in Sephora and they had bronzer stuff. So I tried it and it turned my finger brown. I had to wash it off. The visitor's center was the closest bathroom." -Emily
"But we like it here. It's so nice." -Amanda

"Are there any feelings there? I mean, how are you feeling in your heart?" -Grandma

"How long has this been here?" *looks at burger place* -Amanda
"Forever...a long time...Adam found it." -Grandpa

*After shopping at AE*
"Well. Now I have pants! Now I just need a shirt to go with them. And maybe some clothes for church." -Emily
"Did you bring anything with you?!" -Amanda

*While on the sky ride at Lagoon*
"Let's have deep conversation. -Emily
"Okay, what do you want to talk about? Let's think of something." -Amanda
....
"I just kicked that tree with my foot!" -Emily

"One difference between Burger King and McDonalds...at Burger King they speak English and at McDonalds they speak Spanish......not that there is anything wrong with Spanish. It's okay because I can understand Spanish." -Grandpa

"So have you two thought about serving a mission?" -Sister Missionaries
"Yes! We were just talking about that. We were saying we would love to. You guys have such cute clothes!" -Amanda
"But that wasn't the only reason..." -Emily

*Guy walks up steps to temple door*
"Yo! What the heck is this thing for?!" -Guy

"What did you guys get at CitiCreek?" -Sister Missionaries
"Pants!" -Emily
"Shorts!" -Amanda
"Oh! How nice. Stuff we no longer get to enjoy. You two will have to do that for us!" -Sister Missionaries

wildflowers

you belong among the wild flowers
you belong somewhere close to me
far away from your trouble and worry
you belong somewhere you feel free

it's one of those songs that never really gets old.
and it makes me happy. and that's always plus.

d & a

my brother and sister are kinda weird.
and most of the time they're pretty annoying.
but i miss them, a lot.
only three more months until i go home.
i can hardly wait to see them,
but i'm pretty sure the excitement will wear off
in those few short minutes it takes to walk to the car at the airport.
but i'm still excited.

oh, rexburg

i'm headed to good ol' rexburg in the morning.
and let me just start by saying- rexburg and i do not get along.
the last time we were together i nearly lost my keys on the side of road.
not to mention the parking ticket and hitting someone with a broom at walmart.
let's just say that i was pretty happy once we crossed the border back into utah.

goal this weekend: make rexburg my friend. wish me luck.

soundtrack of my life

i love music. a lot. any excuse to make a new playlist, i'll take it.
i'm pretty open to pretty much any kind of music. latest obsession? country. yes, country.
i've been thinking lately about what the soundtrack of my life would be,
some songs just take me back to a memory, a person, a place.
and every time i hear one of them i'm instantly transported back in time.

Fall For You - Secondhand Serenade
Colder Weather - Zac Brown Band
The House That Built Me - Miranda Lambert
Wildflowers - Tom Petty
Elephant Love Medley - Moulin Rouge
Back to December - Taylor Swift
Mr. Watson - Kesha
Body Language - Jesse McCartney (it's catchy, i promise)
The Good Old Days - The Eels
World Spins Madly On - The Weepies
Baby Blue Eyes - A Rocket to the Moon

and as of right now this is what i have on repeat:

and of course, the biebs. love him.

American Honey

I love concerts. I've seen most of my favorite artists in concert (including Michael Buble, Justin Timberlake, and the Goo Goo Dolls) and I've been able to add another favorite to that list: Lady Antebellum. I knew that they were coming to Salt Lake for months but I never actually followed through with getting tickets or anything. With only a week until the concert, my friend Jessica scored some tickets and the countdown begun! We started listening to Lady A all the time and we got more and more excited the closer it got. The day came and we were so ready that I think we were in the arena a good two hours before it even started. We found our seats, bought band t-shirts, and we were ready. They opened the show with We Owned the Night and closed it with Need You Now, and they played all their best songs in between. My favorite? American Honey. I mean, all the songs were amazing. But for some reason I just love that one, so when they started singing it you can probably imagine how happy I was. All in all, Lady A was hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Thumbs up for Lady A!
